The Emir of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan the eldest son of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan the father of the UAE who served as the second President of the United Arab Emirates and commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the UAE has passed away at the age of 73. The Emir was the elder brother of Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who has become the Emir of Abu Dhabi and is set to become the President of the UAE, after the Emir of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum steps aside from his acting position as President of the UAE. Sheikh Khalifa was a modernizer as his father was, he seen modernizing the country and Abu Dhabi and its infrastructure.
