U.S House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hours after landing in Taiwan has officially meet the President of Taiwan. This marks 25 years of U.S silence in high delegation visits to the nation since 1997 or when Clinton was President. Back then China had a very weak navy with air force and overall military equipment compared to the United States and backoff when the U.S sent an aircraft carrier to Taiwan. But after 25 years of economic growth and hundreds of billions of dollars in investment in military: China’s PLA does not seem to be willing to back off showing military might to the United States.
